A mural depicting the history of Cotulla creates a radiant backdrop along Cotulla’s downtown district

A handpainted mural depicting the story of Cotulla and La Salle County has been completed and installed in a series of panels stretching 96 feet along the wall of a downtown business, creating a further attraction for visitors to the city’s historic district. Designed by artist Gilbert Rocha of Laredo and created over the past 18 months with input from city officials and local residents, and including extensive historical research, the mural features the city’s founder, Joseph Cotulla, as well as a number of iconic buildings and characteristics typical of the Brush Country.
